Department of Adult & Continuing Education

German Stage 2

Development of conversation skills through talking about various experiences in the past and the future; emphasis on speaking and listening activities, with the aid of audio and video resources; past and future tenses and use of written activities to support conversation practice.

Intensive German beginner course in June 

Intensive German beginner course starting first week in June. Tuesday and Thursday evening 6-9pm and Saturday morning 10 am - 1pm.

 

Basic German 1

Students of Basic Language 1 will learn the language of: making contacts, travel enquiries, arriving at a hotel, accommodation, food and restaurants, shopping, eating in restaurants, making arrangements to meet people. These courses are assessed by a series of assignments, written tests and orals.

Wednesdays 6-9pm 

 

Basic German 2

Students of Basic Language 2 will learn the language of renting accommodation, booking hotel rooms, making holiday and travel arrangements. These courses are assessed by a series of assignments, written tests and orals.

Priesthill Campus 

Basic German

This class is ideal for those with a little knowledge of the language and ideal for those who holiday abroad. Students will learn how to exchange personal information, order a meal and go shopping. Develop you reading, writing and conversational skills.

Class A from Tuesday 4 September 2007, 2.00 - 4.00
Class B from Tuesday 29 January 2008, 2.00 - 4.00
 

Intermediate  2

This German class is ideal for adult learners who have studied German before and would like to become more fluent in their speaking, listening and writing skills. External exam possible at the end of the course. (if you like a challenge or qualifications)
